It has been a very, very long week.
I am missing writing Potty Politics. I haven't even started on my next project. I am having headaches trying to make an idea work. The sun is out and all I want to do is sit in the garden and eat cheese and wine except I don't eat cheese or wine.
Sitting in for Vanessa was really good fun. Lovely producers and lovely listeners.
Tomorrow I'm doing another shift at Radio Kent. Should be fun.
But I have so missed writing this, and I have tons of pics to upload, plus all sorts of thoughts but I'm tangled up in too much round the edges.
Last week I saw YELLOW FACE at THE PARK THEATRE in Finsbury park. Clever, witty, well done. really good, all about identity and racism.
Then I saw CHORUS LINE at THE PALLADIUM. I went alone, and cried buckets. The skill, the story line, the sheer rawness of it.
Then on Thursday, with the 'oosbind, we went to see THE BOOK OF MORMON. Derek Jacobi was sitting next to us, he led the standing ovation. The show is so sharp, rude, funny and puts a lot of people off, which is just what I like.
I stayed in the old Bryant and May matchbox factory in Bow. The little apartment was haunted by a match girl who was in an accident and lost her wedding ring. She stands in the hall, still looking for her gold band. Luckily she didn't pay me a visit.
Now, at 5.45, my eyes are closing from working in the garden and thinking too hard.
One of my best friends husbands has just been diagnosed with a horrible illness, another very dear friend has just come back from having a biggy operation.
I am going downstairs to hug the old git and remember how lucky we are.
I am getting back on it.
